Lady Gaga wins 4 MTV Video Music Awards!

Lady Gaga made it from UBS Arena to Madison Square Garden just in time to kick off her latest Mayhem Ball concert after making a brief stop at the 2025 MTV Video Music Awards. The musician stayed for the beginning of the show to accept the award for Artist of the Year, but also won in the technical categories for Best Direction and Best Art Direction. When she hit the stage at MSG, she brought her three new VMAs trophies with her.

During “Perfect Celebrity,” a part of the set where Gaga rolls around in a box full of sand, she positioned the shiny silver Moon People as props. “Find my clone she’s asleep on the ceiling now/Can’t get me down,” she sang while thrusting one award towards the camera. “You love to hate me/I’m the perfect celebrity.” She threw handfuls of sand at the awards and choked out the skeleton positioned next to her. It was the kind of theatrics that made her VMAs history so unforgettable.

The 18-time VMA winner is technically also performing during the show in a segment filmed at MSG, and the vibe will be ~Mayhem~. (Note: It’s also possible that Gaga could perform her new track, “The Dead Dance,” which dropped several days before the VMAs on September 3 in conjunction with the second half of Wednesday season 2.)

Either way, Gaga is nominated for 12 Video Music Awards this year, so let’s go through them shall we? She’s up for Video of the Year, Song of the Year, Best Collaboration, and Best Pop for “Die With a Smile; Artist of the Year; Best Album for Mayhem; and Best Art Direction, Best Cinematography, Best Choreography, Best Visual Effects, and Best Editing for “Abracadabra.”

Lady Gaga to Appear on Stephan Colbert

Lady Gaga is scheduled to appear on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert this coming Monday, September 8, marking her first visit to the program in nearly five years. She is slated to perform during the episode, which will also feature actor Cillian Murphy.

The booking was announced Thursday, less than 24 hours after Gaga abruptly canceled a Miami stop on her Mayhem Ball tour. The singer was forced to pull the show with just minutes before it began due to vocal cord strain that her doctor and vocal coach said carried “significant risk” if she performed.

On Wednesday, Sept. 3, the 39-year-old “Bad Romance” singer announced she had to abruptly cancel her performance just minutes before she was set to take the stage.

Premiere: ‘The Dead Dance’ Music Video Out Now!

Lady Gaga is back with a new song. What’s more, her single “The Dead Dance” gets the music video treatment courtesy of Tim Burton, marking the first time the two creatives have ever worked together. The black-and-white visual plays into both artists’ aesthetics while keeping ties to Wednesday, the Netflix series starring Jenna Ortega as the Addams Family character of the same name. “The Dead Dance” was written by Lady Gaga, Andrew Watt, and Henry Walter, with producer credits going to Gaga, Watt, and Cirkut. The pop star’s contribution to Wednesday’s soundtrack also dovetails with her cameo in the show. Gaga stars as the white-haired character Rosaline Rotwood, a legendary Nevermore teacher, after teasing her role at the Netflix Tudum 2025 event and performing her single “Abracadabra” and “Zombieboy” with portions of the Addams Family theme song.

The song was written by Lady Gaga, Andrew Watt, and Henry Walter, and produced by Gaga, Watt, and Cirkut.

Lady Gaga thrilled fans after Netflix released a first look image of her as a mysterious new character in Wednesday Season 2. The superstar, 39, looked striking in an eerie portrait with Thing, the disembodied, personified hand, on her shoulder.

The 14-time Grammy winner is set to make her long-awaited return to the MTV VMAs stage in the forthcoming days as well as make a cameo in the second act of Wednesday’s new season.

It’s been almost three years to the day since Lady Gaga last played a show in Miami, and it was a dramatic one. As the singer sat down at her piano for the stripped-down portion of her set, lightning in the area threatened to shut down the concert. Gaga laughed it off at first, but after a two-hour rain delay, the final show of her Chromatica Ball tour ended before the last set and encore. It was a symbolic end for an album era marred by the start of the COVID pandemic.

September showers followed Gaga to Miami once again Sunday night, but under otherwise starkly different conditions. This time, the singer is touring in support of her seventh studio album, Mayhem, her biggest critical and commercial success since 2011’s Born This Way.

Calling all the Monsters: Lady Gaga will turn the MTV Video Music Awards stage into her own Mayhem Ball as a performer at the fete, joining a star-studded lineup that includes previously announced musicians Doja Cat, Mariah Carey, Sabrina Carpenter, Jelly Roll, Post Malone, Tate McRae and J Balvin.

“There will be magic in the air at the 2025 #VMAs because @LADYGAGA IS PERFORMING! 🪄” the awards ceremony wrote on Instagram in a joint post with CBS, who is hosting the show. “You won’t want to miss her return, September 7 on @cbstv and @paramountplus!”
