NBC San Diego – After dethroning President Obama last month to become the most popular living person on Facebook, Lady Gaga has now edged Britney Spears as the most-followed person on Twitter.
As of late Friday evening, Gaga boasted at least 5,677,803 followers on the microblogging service, compared to Spears’ 5,671,738. Hours earlier, social media stats firm Famecount.com had projected the “Alejandro” singer to topple Spears’ reign of Twitter dominance.
Gaga is currently at 5,681,704 followers and counting on Twitter.
