Today celebrates the Worldwide release of Gaga’s second studio effort, The Fame Monster. Originally labeled as a re-release, The Fame Monster was announced by Gaga during the summer of 2009. However, during the early promotion for the album, Gaga announced that after many fights with her label, the 8 song repack would be available as a standalone album. Gaga felt that the songs didn’t need The Fame to lean on and be great. The album opened new windows of creativity for Gaga and the Haus. Those windows made her stand out even more from her other peers. The album debuted at number 5 on the Billboard 200 chart and spawned 3 top 10 singles.
