You could see the sincere pain in Gaga's eyes and the fact that she performed completely alone speaks volumes. Mixing her own Dance in the dark was shear genius - and who made that keytar/guitar/mixing board creation - absolutely amazing! Her acoustic version of telephone is exactly the same as all her other acoustic versions that started with poker face. Anyone can slow a song down en break it down to just vocals and piano. The trick is to make it special (like poker face). this was just plain boring. The weird techno edit of dance in the dark wasn't all that better. I like edits or mixes but this was just wrong. It didn't compliment or add anything to the first song. This whole performance was just empty. I miss the times of the VMA's, SNL or Much Music. I loved those performances.
